MIDSOUTH USSSA SUPER NIT

May 10-12, 2013

Mississippi USSSA Baseball is pleased to announce that the USSSA "Road to Disney" will wind its way again through Snowden Grove Park in Southaven, MS and various ballparks in the North MS / Mid South area for the 7-14 year old age divisions for the 2013 season. Each age division will be awarded berths to the USSSA Elite 32 World Series in Orlando, FL for the 9-14 year old (Major Division) age groups.

Additional World Series berths (up to 4 per age per division) will be awarded to the top finishers in the 7, 8, AA and AAA divisions.

The MIDSOUTH USSSA Super NIT scheduled for May 10-12, 2013 will be held at Snowden Grove Park with additional fields being made available at Greenbrook Park in Southaven, MS, Latimer Lakes Park in Horn Lake, MS, First TN Fields in Cordova, TN, Southaven HS in Southaven, MS and Desoto Central HS in Southaven, MS as needed (Each park is within a 15-30 minute drive to Snowden Grove).

Entries for the 7 AAA & Major, 8 AAA & Major, 12AAA and 13 AAA must be made at www.usssa.com or www.hornlakeparks.com

Entries for the 8 Kid Pitch, 9 AAA and 7-14 AA Divisions must be made at www.usssa.com or www.gamedaybaseball.com


TOURNAMENT SITES WITH DIRECTIONS

The 10 AAA and 11 AAA Divisions will be played at Greenbrook Park in Southaven, MS*

 

The majority of the 9 -13 Major Divisions will be played at Snowden Grove Park in Southaven, MS* (Some games of the 9U, 10Major, 11Major and 12Major Divisions will be played at Greenbrook Park also.)

 

The 14 Year Old 60'90' Division will be played at Snowden Grove Park, Southaven HS & Desoto Central HS

The 7U, 12 AAA, & 13 AAA Divisions will be played at Latimer Lakes Park in Horn Lake, MS*

The 8 Kid Pitch, 7-14 AA Divisions will be played at First TN Fields in Cordova, TN*

 

*Subject to Revision based upon the total # of entries that register.


FORMAT

This event will be a 3 game guarantee event, in a pool play format (2 pool games) with ALL teams advancing to a single elimination Championship . The Overall Champion in the Major Division of the 9-14 year old age divisions will receive berths to the Elite 32 World Series at the Disney Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

 

Additional World Series berths (up to 4 per age per division) will be awarded to the top finishers in the 7, 8, AA and AAA divisions.

  • 7 & 8 Year Old Coach Pitch - $200.00

  • 8 Year Old Kid Pitch - $250.00

  • 9 AA / AAA -14 AA / AAA Divisions - $395.00

  • 9U -14 Major Divisions - $445.00

Entries will be reserved on a first come first paid basis.

GENERAL RULES

  1. All age divisions and classifications shall play by the USSSA BASEBALL NATIONAL BY-LAWS & RULES with the addition of the International Tie Breaker format for games tied after regulation and time limits for all games except the Championship Games. (Game time limits will be according to City of Southaven Baseball Tournament Rules & Guidelines)

  2. Pool Play games may end in a TIE.

  3. General gate admission will be $5.00 per day for all persons 12 years of age and older or $12.00 for the Super NIT Pass.  Children ages 6 - 11 will be $2.00 per day or $5.00 for the Super NIT Pass.  Children 5 years of age and younger are admitted free of charge.  Admission applies to everyone except participating uniformed players and  a maximum of 3 coaches per team.

  4. NO outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought into the ballpark. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED. The City of Southaven provides Water Coolers with ice water in each dugout. Teams are also allowed to bring their own circular (5 or 10 gallon) Cooler with pre-mix sports drink. Individual bottled water or bottled sports drinks are NOT allowed. NO CHEST COOLERS ALLOWED.

IMPORTANT:  The City of Southaven has made arrangements with local hotels to assure that there are plenty of hotel rooms at discounted rates available for this SUPER NIT event.  Click here for a complete listing of hotels. USSSA RULES OF CONDUCT

It is the purpose of USSSA Baseball to conduct the best possible Tournament from all aspects. To achieve this objective USSSA must have the cooperation of each player, manager, coach and sponsor.

We are the guest in the city that the tournament is conducted and nothing should occur that would reflect aversely on your team, players, our host city or USSSA Baseball. Therefore, it is required that all teams in the tournament comply with the following rules:

1. Team managers must have full control of their players at all times. This means "on" and "off" the field.

2. In case of disputed play or decision, team managers or captains may consult the game official. The other players and coaches or sponsors are to be kept out of the discussion.

3. Managers, coaches and players  are not to fraternize with the spectators while on the playing field. At no time will participants be allowed to smoke on the field or in the coaching box.

4. At no time will participants be allowed to drink or have in their possession any alcoholic beverage while in the dugout, coaching bases or on the playing field during the course of the game.

5.Managers are to report any unsportsmanship like conduct or derogatory acts by players or spectators to the tournament director. The purpose here is to prevent any serious situation from developing that would be harmful to the tournament.

6. Managers, coaches, players, sponsors and teams are liable for the suspension by not adhering to the tournament rules in effect. This could mean suspension for a game, games tournament or a longer duration depending on the act of violation.

7.A player, coach, manager or sponsor may be suspended for fighting, abusive tactics or unbecoming acts that are detrimental and not in the best interest of USSSA baseball and tournament play.

8. Be careful of your conduct. Be sure that no actions occurs that could reflect adversely on your sponsor, team or region. Remember that the wrong actions of even one player can reflect upon you team an the game of baseball.

9. Any report by hotel or motel management, where any team competing in USSSA play is staying, of destruction of property or abuse of hotel or motel property will be dealt with sternly. Team mangers and sponsors will not be warned other than through this notice. Failure to pay hotel or motel bills can result in the team disbarment form future USSSA play.

10. Any teams submitting bad checks to the USSSA will be subject to disbarment.
